Optimized geometry transition element ensuring continuous flow and minimized dead zones between different screw profiles
Gradual cross-section transition to maintain intermeshing continuity
Reduced non-intermeshing zones and material stagnation
Improved residence time consistency
Auxiliary conveying and mild distributive mixing capability
Transition screw elements are designed to connect screw elements with different geometries or cross-sectional profiles, ensuring smooth continuity of material flow along the screw axis.
When transitioning between elements such as single flight, double flight or special conveying geometries (e.g., SK elements), abrupt structural changes can create non-intermeshing zones, leading to material stagnation, degradation or inconsistent residence time.
Transition elements are engineered to gradually modify channel geometry and flight engagement, minimizing dead zones and maintaining stable conveying conditions. In certain designs, they also contribute to moderate conveying and distributive mixing, supporting process stability across functional zones.
