Controlled plastication and mixing with adjustable shear and conveying performance
Forward conveying capability
Adjustable shear via angle and disc width
Balanced dispersive and distributive mixing
Flexible configuration for different processes
Forward kneading elements are designed to provide a controlled combination of material conveying, plastication and mixing in co-rotating twin screw extruders.
Their performance is primarily determined by:
Stagger angle (30°/45°/60°)
Disc width (narrow/standard/wide)
As the stagger angle increases, conveying capability decreases while mixing intensity increases.
As disc width increases, shear intensity increases while distributive mixing decreases.
This makes forward kneading elements highly adaptable to different processing requirements.
Ensures continuous material transport while mixing.
Controlled through stagger angle and disc thickness.
Provides both dispersive and distributive mixing.
Suitable for a wide range of materials and formulations.
Strong conveying, low mixing intensity
Balanced conveying and mixing
Reduced conveying, strong mixing
Improve distributive mixing
Increase shear and dispersive mixing
Mixing performance = function of angle + disc width + sequence
